The Kaufmans
This was in DC with Richard and Gabrielle. I met Gabrielle's mom, Richelle through Facebook. She was a student of Nelson Shanks, the artist who painted Bill Clinton's portrait for the National Portrait Gallery. Shanks made headlines when he painted the shadow of Monica Lewinsky's dress in the painting. Mr. Shanks was NOT a fan of President Clinton and felt that he took advantage of Ms. Lewinsky. Indeed, her life was negatively altered because of that incident. That said, Richelle commissioned me to paint their first dance, and it was the first time I was given the opportunity to make 'thank you' cards from one of my Live Wedding Paintings.
